Guardians Win KAIAC Boys Volleyball Championship
Written by Dan Hale, Activities Director
From the moment last year’s final ended in defeat, the boys’ volleyball team set its sights on redemption. After the 2024 KAIAC Boys Volleyball Tournament final loss to their cross-town rival Seoul Foreign School (SFS), they knew another opportunity would come—but it seemed elusive. Two more regular-season losses to SFS reinforced the challenge. Despite the collective growth, sweat, and hard work the team committed to during the off-season, the team’s goal still felt out of reach.
On November 1, everything clicked. After a hard-earned 3-2 semifinal victory over a stout Chadwick International team, the championship match began. After splitting the first two sets, some felt the third set could swing either way. However, the boys made a statement to everyone who was there to hear it as Guardians surged forward in the third set—making it clear that this moment belonged to them. They carried that momentum into the fourth set, finishing decisively and leaving no doubt who deserved the trophy.
This marks the team’s first KAIAC Tournament Championship since 2012, and they earned all of it with every point, every practice, every bit of sweat. All-Tournament honors went to Keado F. (12), Jeremy L. (12), Ace B. (12), and David J. (12). Aaron K. (12) claimed Best Setter, while Keado F. (12) was named Tournament MVP. Beyond their dominance on the court, the team’s integrity stood out—earning the Sportsmanship Award for their fair play throughout the season.
The fall season was a journey of growth that culminated in a moment of triumph. Congratulations to our Guardians Boys Volleyball team on an incredible fall season.
