The instructional program at YISS consists of a curriculum based primarily on standards from the U.S. educational system. Courses are designed and taught to challenge students academically and help them to think critically and creatively, while being taught from a foundational biblical worldview.
The elementary academic program works to develop strong foundational literacy and mathematical skills, while providing focused instruction in science, social studies, physical education, art, music, technology, and world languages. Students also have Bible class (NICS) or character education instruction (Oasis).
The middle school academic program is designed to be rigorous and challenging, but also offer a variety of options to inspire a love for learning. The core subjects are Bible (NICS) or philosophy (Oasis), English language arts, mathematics, and science. Physical education, art, choir, band, orchestra, technology, world languages, and electives are taught as well.
The high school seeks to challenge and encourage students with an academic program thoroughly grounded in a moral, Biblical worldview that prepares them well for the rigors of higher education and the demands of their chosen careers. Most students go far beyond the basic high school graduation requirements and follow a more challenging plan of study.
