Varsity Swimmers Deliver Record-breaking Season

The YISS High School Varsity Swim Team concluded an impressive season marked by strong podium finishes, individual accolades, and record-breaking performances. Across both the KAIAC Conference and Tournament, YISS demonstrated depth, consistency, and a strong team culture.
At the KAIAC Conference Championships, YISS placed 2nd overall in the combined team points, reflecting balanced contributions from both the girls’ and boys’ programs. The girls’ team earned a 2nd place overall finish, with Corinne C. (11), Chloe P. (11), Serene H. (12), Camila H. (9), and Caylee P. (11) receiving All-Conference honors. The boys’ team finished 4th overall, led by Max G. (12), Inho K. (10), Eugene L. (10), Ryan C. (10), and Raymon M. (11), who were all named All-Conference athletes.
Individually, Max G. (12) was recognized as the KAIAC High Point Award recipient, highlighting his exceptional performances and consistency across multiple events.
The team carried its momentum into the KAIAC Tournament, where YISS placed 3rd overall in the combined team standings. The girls once again secured a strong 2nd place overall finish, with Camila H. (9), Chloe P. (11), Corinne C. (11), and Serene H. (12) earning All-Tournament honors. The boys’ team placed 4th overall, with Max G. (12), Inho K. (10), and Eugene L. (10) recognized as All-Tournament athletes.
This season also featured several new school records. Raina C. (9) set a new mark in the 50 backstroke, while Max G. (12) broke records in both the 100 IM and 100 butterfly. Additionally, the boys’ 200-meter medley relay team—Meiko W-L. (10), Eugene L. (10), Inho K. (10), and Max G. (12)—established a new school record.
These achievements would not have been possible without the commitment and contributions of every member of the YISS Varsity Swim Team. The dedication in training and strong competition of the entire team played a vital role throughout the season.
