Kindergarteners Celebrate 100 Days of Learning

Written by Emily Flaget, Kindergarten Lead Teacher

On January 22, the kindergarten students at Yongsan International School of Seoul joyfully celebrated their 100th Day of School, marking a milestone in their academic journey. In the weeks leading up to the event, students showcased their creativity by designing "100-day posters" featuring imaginative collections like 100 Days of Love, 100 Happy Hearts, and even 100 Legos—each project a colorful testament to their counting skills and hard work.

The special day began with a read-aloud from ES Assistant Principal Mrs. Palisuri who shared the story 100th Day Worries. The book helped students reflect on their own experiences building their collections, and the classes enthusiastically counted along with the characters. To keep the momentum going, kindergarten teachers led the group in 100 exercises, energizing both minds and bodies as the children counted together in unison.

Classrooms were full of excitement as students rotated through engaging activities. They counted out 100 snacks, created colorful 100-themed crafts, and worked together in 100-second challenge games. Laughter and teamwork filled the rooms as students celebrated reaching this milestone together.

This celebration was made even more meaningful through the support of our joyful and servant-hearted parent community. Parent volunteers generously gave their time to lead activities and cheer on the students, ensuring a warm and memorable experience for every child.

The 100th Day of School serves as a vibrant reminder of the growth, creativity, and community spirit that make learning at YISS so special. Congratulations to our youngest learners on reaching 100 days of learning, discovery, and fun!
