Written by Amber Stephens, Middle and High School Choir Director
On March 23 and 24, students from both the YISS middle and high school participated in a school-day Variety Concert featuring small ensembles. Performers included members of the jazz band, band, choir, and orchestra, representing a wide range of musical disciplines across both divisions.
Held in the school auditorium, the concert showcased a variety of musical styles in an intimate setting. The format provided students with the opportunity to demonstrate their musicianship, collaboration, and ensemble skills while performing live for members of the school community.
The program featured a blend of vocal and instrumental pieces, highlighting both individual talent and group coordination. The event also reflected the depth and diversity of the school’s performing arts program, as well as strong student involvement across grade levels.
The Variety Concert served as a platform for creative expression and performance experience, reinforcing the importance of the arts within the school community.
