Appreciation Lunch Celebrates YISS Teachers and Staff
YISS teachers do far more than teach—they mentor, inspire, encourage, and help shape the future with every lesson and interaction. Given the restrictions on gift-giving in Korea, expressing gratitude can be challenging for families. To help bridge this gap, the YISS PTO hosted a special lunch in the courtyard on April 17 to honor and thank our caring teachers and staff on behalf of the parent community.
Before the event, the PTO organized a collection of handwritten messages from elementary students, while the middle school invited students to write notes for their teachers and staff. These colorful cards and heartfelt messages adorned the courtyard, adding to the festive atmosphere.
The lunch featured a delicious taco bar by Coreanos Kitchen, fresh bagels, and gourmet desserts. From baskets of apples and vibrant balloons to handwritten notes from our youngest learners, every detail was a small token of our immense gratitude.
As a symbolic gesture, each teacher and staff member received a silver miniature suitcase, symbolizing well wishes for a restful and well-deserved summer break.
Led by Hospitality Co-Chairs Jen Clyde and Susie Song, the YISS PTO did a lovely job as representatives of the broader parent community to celebrate our dedicated and caring teachers and staff. Undoubtedly, our teachers work extremely hard to create a nurturing learning environment where all students can thrive and grow.
Thank you to all our teachers and staff who inspire, empower, and make a meaningful difference every day!
