YISS Guardian Roundup: February 2024

YISS wants to recognize and celebrate the talent and hard work of our students who excel in activities and competitions that take place at a high level both inside and outside of school. In this edition of our Guardian Roundup, we are thrilled to highlight the following students and their recent accomplishments:

Fifth grader Andrew Y. has secured four first-place finishes this winter season in skiing competitions. They include the Garmin Cup Korea Youth Ski Association Race, the KUSTA Cup National Youth Alpine Ski Race, the Fischer Junior Championship, and the YMCA International School Ski Racing Competition, showcasing his passion, skills, and determination on the slopes.

Eighth grader Philip C. clinched first place in the Alpine Ski Race hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism in the middle school group division this winter. He also achieved third place in the YMCA International School Ski Racing Competition, the Fischer Junior Championship, and the 2024 Namhae Onette National Race.

Fourth grader Ian S. took second place in the U10 category of the YMCA International School Ski Racing Competition. He is passionate about skiing and plans to continue training and competing in the future.

If you know of a student who has recently been recognized for excellence in a special activity or competition outside of school, you can nominate them for our next Guardian Roundup using this form (yis.to/student-news).
