Varsity Girls Soccer Experiences Season of Growth
Written by Heather Jaramillo, Varsity Girls Soccer Coach, and Ludia Yoo, Soccer Team Captain
The Varsity Girls Soccer team, led by Coach Jaramillo and Coach Delisle, had a challenging, but rewarding season. Throughout the season, the team demonstrated steady growth, particularly in stepping up their defensive line and working together more effectively in attacking as a team.
Competing against some of the conference’s strongest teams, including SFS and CI, the team faced several challenging matches. Despite these results, the players showed significant development following the ACSC Tournament in Jakarta, Indonesia, returning with renewed focus and a stronger sense of cohesion.
The team’s future remains promising. With only two seniors graduating and a large group of returning sophomores, the foundation is in place for continued growth and competitiveness in the seasons ahead.
After an early win against Humphreys, the team encountered a difficult stretch that included multiple losses and an injury to one of the team captains. Even in the face of these setbacks, the players continued to strengthen teamwork and support one another on and off the field.
The season concluded on a high note during the final game of the KAIAC Cup Tournament. Competing to avoid last place, the team secured a dramatic victory in a penalty shootout. The match stood out as one of the most exciting and memorable moments of the season, highlighting the team’s determination.
This season’s journey reflects not only progress in skill, but also the development of unity and perseverance.
