Special Luncheon Recognizes Dedicated Teachers and Staff
The caring and dedicated teachers and staff at YISS do far more than teach content—they mentor, encourage, inspire, and help shape the future of our students each and every day. Given the restrictions on gift-giving in Korea, expressing gratitude can sometimes be challenging for families. To help bridge this gap, the YISS PTO and school hosted a special appreciation event on Thursday, April 16, with the heartfelt theme, “In Full Bloom Because of You,” honoring the dedicated teachers and staff who help our students and school community flourish.
Students in every division participated in the appreciation luncheon by contributing meaningful expressions of thanks. Before the event, elementary students created beautifully handwritten cards in the shape of flowers, while high school students wrote heartfelt notes of appreciation for their teachers. Middle school students submitted adjectives to describe their teachers, which were used to create a lovely collage in the shape of teachers’ last names. These colorful messages decorated the courtyard and created a warm, celebratory atmosphere and reflected the gratitude of the entire YISS community.
Guests enjoyed a delicious lunch featuring a mediterranean menu, along with a variety of desserts and drinks. Vibrant flowers helped bring the “In Full Bloom Because of You” theme to life and reminded everyone of the positive impact teachers and staff have on students every day.
As a token of appreciation from the parent community, each teacher and staff member received a set of travel pouches to accompany them on their travels near and far. The event aimed to convey the community’s sincere gratitude for the care and dedication our faculty and staff continually provide all year long.
Organized by the YISS PTO Executive Board and Hospitality Co-Chairs, the event was a meaningful opportunity to recognize the incredible people who cultivate a nurturing learning environment where students can thrive academically, socially, and spiritually.
