Spring Book Fair Cultivates a Love for Reading
Written by Maria José Lopez Grancha and Deanna Luck, Book Fair Co-Chairs
The campus came alive with literary excitement from April 7–10 as students, teachers, and parents gathered in the main lobby for the annual Spring Book Fair. Co-sponsored by the PTO and the school libraries, this much-anticipated event transformed the space into a vibrant hub of stories, discovery, and community connection.
In partnership with TongBang Books, the fair featured an impressive selection of more than 3,000 titles. From engaging picture books for younger readers to compelling novels, graphic novels, and a curated collection of adult titles offered at a discounted price, there was something for every reader. We were also pleased to welcome back Word of Life, whose contribution of over 300 Christian titles added meaningful variety to the collection.
The Spring Book Fair continues to be a favorite tradition within our community, and this year was no exception. The enthusiasm of our families was evident throughout the event, with many titles selling out before the final day—a clear reflection of the strong reading culture at YISS.
More than a book sale, the Spring Book Fair is a celebration of the power of reading. Each book purchased represents a new opportunity for learning, imagination, and growth. It is through moments like these that our community comes together around a shared belief: that books have the power to shape perspectives and enrich lives.
Thank you to everyone who participated and contributed to making this year’s event such a meaningful success. Your support helps transform the Book Fair into something far greater than a marketplace—it becomes a celebration of learning, connection, and the joy of reading.
We look forward to welcoming you back for the Fall Book Fair in October!
