MS Students Shine in Annual Talent Show

Our YISS middle school is full of bold talent, and students were given the opportunity to showcase these talents just before Christmas break at the third annual Middle School Talent Show on Friday, December 16. Hosted and MC’d by the middle school student council, the show saw 38 courageous students display their talents individually and in small groups in the areas of singing, dancing, and playing instruments.

The MS StuCo was excited to have all three grades represented in the show this year and to have an opportunity to highlight and encourage their peers. To enter the show, individual students and groups submitted audition videos to StuCo who then organized practice, scheduled the order of events, managed backstage, and hosted the final show.

At the end of the performances, the student audience voted on their favorite acts. The votes were compiled, and the winners were announced in real time before the closing of the event. The top winners were Kyle E. (7) playing the drums, Maddie R. (6) singing and playing the piano, and Irene C. (6) singing and playing the guitar. To celebrate the performers’ hard work and courage, all students who participated will enjoy a pizza party sponsored by the MS StuCo, and the top winners will also enjoy the taste of their sweet success with ice cream on January 25.

Congratulations to all who performed and to the MS StuCo for putting on a great show!
