MS Swim Team Shines at KAIAC MS Swim Championships

On April 6, the YISS MS Swim Team displayed exceptional talent and dedication at the KAIAC Middle School Swim Championships, the culminating event of the swimming season. More than 100 swimmers from seven international schools in Korea participated in the event. Led by Ryan C. (8), Elisha C. (7), Chris H. (8), and Olivia C. (8), the team delivered outstanding performances, securing an impressive second-place finish in both the boys' and girls' divisions. YISS swimmers recorded personal bests in all of their events, contributing to the team’s overall success. 

Individual excellence was also celebrated, with Eugene L. (8) and Yunejay L. (7) receiving the prestigious All-KAIAC award for boys, while Abigail L. (6) and Camila H. (7) earned the same honor for girls. The team's accomplishments were further highlighted by the boys’ quartet of Aden L. (7), Ryan C. (8), Eugene L. (8), and Yunejay L.(7), who set a new MS KAIAC record in the 200m Freestyle Relay, demonstrating exceptional teamwork and skill.

The success of the YISS Middle School Swim Team was a testament to the collective effort of its members, including 6th graders Gwyneth L., June Hee K., Hannah T., Jamie N., Elena J., Dylan H., Tristan T., and Elias S.; 7th graders Gianna K., Hannah S., Elaine J., Shiloh R., Raina C., Jason L., Gyu Dam L., and Suhjun B.; 8th graders Joshua H., Grant R., Aiden C., and Liyae K. The coaching staff, comprised of John Sampan, Pam Sampan, Chloe P. (9), and Caylee P. (9), played an integral role in guiding and supporting the team throughout the season.
