YISS Recognizes 10 Legacy Scholars in the Class of 2026

This year, ten seniors concluded their educational journey as “legacy” scholars, having spent their entire academic careers at Yongsan International School of Seoul (YISS). Beginning their journey together in kindergarten, these students were honored at the Senior Awards Assembly and will wear silver cords over their graduation gowns during the commencement ceremony.

Over the course of their 13 years at the school, these seniors flourished both academically and personally, leaving a lasting impact on the YISS community through their leadership and accomplishments in the arts, athletics, Christian ministry, student council, cultural trips, community service, and service-centered clubs and projects.

The Class of 2026 legacy scholars are Oliver Chin, Katie Choi. Serene Han, Angel Jin, David Jin, Claire Lee, Jayden Moon, Tyler Park, Ashutosh Punjabi, and Jeremiah Ro.

As graduation approaches, these seniors carry with them a wealth of experiences, lifelong friendships, and invaluable lessons learned throughout their years at YISS. For many, the transition marks the end of an era filled with mixed emotions as they prepare to say goodbye to the institution that has played such a significant role in shaping their lives.

Reflecting on their time at YISS, many students recognized teachers and staff members who profoundly influenced their academic, personal, and spiritual growth. Several seniors described their teachers as mentors who “really wish the best for students and push them to their full potential,” while others shared how faculty members were “very influential in the direction [their] faith has taken.”

YISS proudly celebrates the accomplishments of these exceptional seniors. As members of the Class of 2026 step into the next phase of their lives, they will undoubtedly carry forward the lifelong connections, values, and experiences forged at YISS, continuing on as global citizens ready to make a positive impact on the world.
