Hour of Code Night: Tech Exploration for Young Minds

YISS leaped into the future with its 2023 Elementary Hour of Code Launch Party, an unforgettable evening of technological exploration and hands-on learning for young minds. The event, held in anticipation of the international Hour of Code Week from December 4-10, provided elementary students with an immersive experience in the world of coding.

The highlight of the night was the diverse range of activities that engaged students in the fascinating realm of coding. Drones soared through the air, robots whirred and beeped, and virtual reality opened up new dimensions of learning. The event aimed not only to introduce elementary students to the basics of coding but also to ignite their passion for the limitless possibilities that technology offers.

In this collaborative learning environment, high school and middle school students demonstrated exemplary teaching skills, acting as mentors and instructors. Elementary students at YISS interested in software programming, app development, and AI formed groups called YISS Girls Coding Club and YISS Coder Boys. During the 2023 Elementary Hour of Code Launch Party, they shared their experiences and achievements with the entire school community. Our sincere appreciation goes out to all the volunteers who played a part in contributing to the success of our Elementary Hour of Code Launch Party.
