Elementary SEW Is Super Powerful

From January 30 to February 2, elementary students enjoyed their annual Spiritual/Special Emphasis Week (SEW). Throughout the event, students enjoyed engaging and encouraging sessions in the auditorium with guests Ian Taylor and Glorious Foreman from FRVR FREE

Each day in the auditorium, Ian and Glorious hosted separate NICS and Oasis lessons. In both sessions, songs were sung and games were played, including a massive rock, paper, scissors knockout tournament! The energy was palpable each morning as the students flooded into the auditorium, eager to hear what the speakers had to say next.

The theme for the week was “Love is a Superpower.” During the sessions, students learned that love is strength and that they can activate their superpower of love by receiving love from others, and in turn, giving love away. Many children shared how the good news that they are loved changed their perspective and gave them the power to overcome challenges in their lives. One student even spoke about how learning that he is loved has helped him to believe in the Truth of Jesus.

The impact of SEW will continue on in the lives of our students as they continue to walk in the belief that “Love is a Superpower.” We can’t wait to see what SEW has in store for our students next year!
