YISS MUN Team Receives Awards at YALE MUN Korea

From Friday, November 25, to Sunday, November 27, the YISS Model United Nations (MUN) team competed in the Yale MUN Korea Conference, held this year at the Seoul Olympic Parktel. Yale MUN Korea involved over 350 delegates from multiple countries and has established itself as a premier conference on the East Asian Model UN circuit.

Our 24-member team, most of whom have not participated in a live MUN conference, represented YISS extremely well at the annual conference, continuing our team's tradition of excellence. YISS student delegates participated on eight different committees, including the World Food Program, the United Nations Human Rights Council, and the Commission of Science and Technology for Development. The YISS MUN team captured awards on every single committee in which they participated!

Mr. Pash and Ms. Dooley would like to commend the whole team on a job well done and congratulate the following students on their individual awards:

Best Delegates:  Sharania M. (10), Carsten H. (10), David C. (11), Rachel K. (11), Siyeon L. (12)

Outstanding Delegates:  Spencer P. (10), Rhea R. (12)

Honorable Mention:  Claire L. (9), Mia M. (9), Seokjun Y. (10), Semee Y. (10), Matthew C. (10), Claire L. (10), Jinyoung C. (10), and Jay C. (12)

Knowing that seven of these award winners were participating in their very first MUN conference, there is a firm foundation established for future success. The MUN team is scheduled to compete in GECMUN in Jeju from February 17-18, 2023, and in DartMUN in New Hampshire from April 7-9, 2023.
