YISS Forensics Takes 3rd at KAIAC All-Conference

On March 3-4, the YISS speech and debate teams participated in their fourth and final tournament of the 2022-23 school year. The forensics participants have represented YISS well all year, and this tournament was no different. 

The KAIAC All-Conference Forensics Tournament took place at GSIS, and YISS placed third overall. Congratulations to all participating students, but a special shout out to those who made the final rounds:

  • Minseul Kim (12), 3rd Place in Prose

  • Portia Koo (11), 2nd Place Solo Interpretation

  • Grace Kim (12), 1st Place Poetry

  • Kyra Jun (11), Finalist in Prose and Poetry

  • Emily Dhong (10), Finalist in Impromptu; 1st Place in Lincoln-Douglas Debate.

  • Woobin Jeong (10), Finalist in Original Oratory

  • Connor Kim (12) and Nathan Cho (12), Finalists in Duo Interpretation.

The team would also like to thank all the YISS staff who volunteered their time as tournament judges this year, as well as all the parents who sent snacks and well wishes with the team.
