PTO Hosts Event to Honor Our Dedicated Teachers and Staff

Teachers play an indispensable role in guiding and shaping the future of our children and society as a whole. Given the restrictions on gift-giving in Korea, expressing gratitude can be challenging for families. In response, the YISS PTO takes proactive steps each year to recognize and show appreciation for our dedicated teachers on behalf of the parent community.

On April 25, the school and PTO teamed up to host a special lunch event in the courtyard to honor our teachers and staff. Cali Kitchen provided a delightful Mexican feast featuring tacos, black beans, rice, and guacamole that was enjoyed by all attendees. The PTO complemented the meal with citrus cake, brownies, and refreshing blueberry and mango smoothies.

Before the event, the PTO organized a collection of beautifully handwritten cards from elementary students, while middle school administrators encouraged students to write messages for their teachers. The HS Student Council also gathered notes to honor and thank our teachers and staff. These colorful cards and heartfelt messages adorned the courtyard, adding to the festive atmosphere.

The YISS PTO, representing the entire parent community, wanted to convey our appreciation to our teachers and staff for their dedication to our children and school community. Each staff was given a silver bag containing several items donated by sponsors: Mint Market, Manhattan Dental, Universal Studios, and Nongshim. We recognize and value the important role teachers play in all our lives. Thank you for cultivating a caring environment at YISS where our children can thrive and grow!
