NHS Spreads Holiday Cheer with Appreciation Letters
Written by Andrew Lim, NHS President, and Alissa Roh, NHS Vice President
On December 15, members of the YISS National Honor Society gathered in MPR-2 to participate in a meaningful holiday service activity. As their final service project for the first semester, NHS members created Christmas cards to express their appreciation for their high school teachers.
Working in small groups, each team was assigned five to six teachers, with members choosing which teachers they wished to write to. This ensured that every high school staff member received a heartfelt message. With Christmas music playing in the background, students colored festive designs, decorated Christmas trees, and wrote personal notes—to some of their favorite teachers.
The event served not only as a service project but also as a bonding opportunity for NHS members, highlighting the strong and positive relationships between students and staff at YISS. “I was grateful for the chance to express my gratitude to teachers since I don’t often do this on a daily basis,” shared Alexis L. (10). Through this activity, NHS demonstrated its commitment to giving back not only beyond campus but also within the school community, embodying the spirit of Christmas through gratitude and service.
