MS Table Tennis Team Serves Up Resilience
By Christian Davis and Amber Domasicwicz, MS Table Tennis Coaches
Throughout the season, the YISS Middle School Table Tennis team demonstrated remarkable resilience and adaptability. The athletes started strong with confident performances at the season’s opening jamboree hosted by YISS.
While maintaining that early momentum proved challenging at subsequent competitions, including those held at TCIS, the team embraced each event as a valuable learning opportunity. These experiences helped student-athletes strengthen their competitive mindset and refine their skills, particularly for those who were new to doubles play this year and went on to compete successfully in the KAIAC tournament.
Trinity K. (8) and Clara L. (6) earned All-KAIAC honors with an impressive second-place finish in Girls’ Doubles. In addition, Aiden H. (8) was recognized with the All-KAIAC Award for the YISS Boys’ Team, and Jongyu C. (6) received the honor for the Girls’ Team.
Now in its second year as an official KAIAC sport, table tennis continues to grow at YISS, both in performance and in teamwork. The program has become a space where students learn perseverance, sportsmanship, and discipline. As coaches, we are incredibly proud of each athlete’s determination and commitment to excellence this season, and we look forward to watching the team continue to build on its success in the years ahead.
