Kindergarten Makes It Count on 100th Day of School

On Friday, February 3, the YISS kindergarten classes celebrated the 100th Day of School! The event, celebrated annually on the 100th day of the school year, gives the students an opportunity to have fun with learning tasks focused on this important three-digit number.

Leading up to the 100th day, the kindergarteners gathered 100 objects from their homes. These objects -- including pom-poms, stickers, candy, and more -- were used to create 100-day posters with creative designs. These posters decorated the hallways alongside photos of what the kindergarteners might look like as 100-year-olds.

On the 100th day, students came to school dressed as 100-year-olds with glasses, gray hair, and even wrinkles! After reading together, the kindergarten parents led their teams from station to station. The students spent the day showcasing their knowledge by participating in a variety of crafts, playing 100-second challenges, creating crowns, and stamping 100 thumbprints.

The students, parents, and staff had a wonderful time celebrating the growth and progress made in the kindergartener’s first 100 days of school!
