Musicians Shine at KIMEA Solo and Ensemble Festival
Written by Mr. Christian Davis, Director of Bands
YISS middle and high school music students in band and orchestra had the opportunity to participate in the KIMEA Solo & Ensemble Festival on April 18 at Asia Pacific International School. Students registered to perform solo or small ensemble works for a panel of adjudicators, showcasing their individual preparation and artistry.
The festival provided a unique setting for students to refine their technique, explore new repertoire, and grow as independent musicians. Performances were evaluated with detailed feedback, helping students develop both confidence and musical precision. The event highlighted each performer’s dedication, with expressive playing and thoughtful interpretation reflecting their commitment to excellence.
Jayden C. (7), Harold C. (7), Jua K. (7), Yuna L. (7), A Joon L. (8), Ava C. (9), Kayla C. (9), Olivia L. (11), and Helen J. (11) demonstrated outstanding preparation and musicianship, and we are incredibly proud of how they represented YISS.
The KIMEA Solo & Ensemble Festival offered an inspiring environment for musical growth, personal achievement, and meaningful performance experiences. Students returned encouraged and motivated, enriched by the opportunity to share their music and develop their skills at a high level.
