YISS Swimmers Excel at Fundraiser for Tuberculosis Patients

The KASS #3 "Swim for Dongdaewon" swimming competition took place at SFS on Saturday, March 16. The event showcased some outstanding performances, particularly from YISS swimmers, who excelled in several events. Funds raised from this swim event will be used to support the Eugene Bell Foundation, which provides care for tuberculosis patients at the Dongdaewon Clinic in North Korea.

Chloe P. (9) did exceptionally by winning two events: the 200m Individual Medley with a time of 2 minutes and 42.19 seconds and the 50m Breaststroke in 39.42 seconds. Also, Max G. (10) did well by winning two events: the 50m Butterfly in 28.26 seconds and the 100m Freestyle in 54.61 seconds.

LeeAnn K. (5) secured first place in the 50m Backstroke with a time of 45.09 seconds, while Yuna L. (5) triumphed in the 200m Freestyle at 3:26.22.

Sophia O. (2) achieved second place in the 100m Freestyle with a time of 2:3.80, and Ian S. (4) finished second in the 200m Freestyle with a time of 3:05.38. Yuri L. (4) secured second place in the 100m Individual Medley with a time of 1:29.34 seconds, as well as second place in the 50m Backstroke with a time of 46.12 seconds.

Additional notable results include Gareth T. (12) securing second place in the 50m Freestyle with a time of 26.68, and Jordyn A. C. (6) finishing second in the 50m Backstroke with a time of 42.49.

Sophie S. L. (5) achieved third place in the 200m Breaststroke with a time of 3:33.21. Ian S. (4) secured third place in the 100m Individual Medley with a time of 1:39.57. Yuri L. (4) also secured third place in the 50m Backstroke with a time of 44.14. Jungwook C. (3) achieved third place in the 25m Backstroke with a time of 24.21.

The competition highlighted the determination and talent of YISS swimmers across various age groups. Looking ahead, the next competition in the series, the Spring Invitational, is scheduled for April 20 at YISS. It promises to be another exciting opportunity for YISS swimmers to showcase their skills and compete against other talented swimmers.
