Class of 2025 Takes the Stage at Commencement

On May 23, 2025, the Commencement Ceremony for the Class of 2025 took place in the YISS courtyard. The 69 graduates, YISS faculty, families, and guests, totaling close to 500 people, gathered to celebrate the achievements of this remarkable class.

The ceremony was also highlighted by some of our senior musicians and their rendition of “For Good” from the Broadway Musical “Wicked.”

This year’s ‘Charge to the Graduates’ was delivered by Mr. Dan Nelson, the Theology, Ethics, and Values (TEV) teacher, who was selected by the senior class as the commencement speaker. He shared his wisdom on the positive benefits of daydreaming and how it can spark creativity, boost productivity, and enhance problem-solving skills.

Three graduates stepped forward with serene dignity. Sharania Mandloi, Claire Lee, and Emily Dhong each spoke from the heart, giving voice to the ideals of truth, excellence, and diversity. The ceremony closed with a touching tribute, as students handed a red rose to their parents in thanks for their unconditional love and support.

The Class of 2025 will soon be spreading out across the globe as they begin their journeys into post-secondary education. While many students are heading to top universities in countries such as Canada, the UK, Japan, and across West Asia, others will be attending leading institutions in the United States. These graduates are pursuing a wide range of academic fields, including STEM, the humanities, business, and medicine reflecting the class’s diverse passions and ambitions.
