Eco-Today Leads Environmental Stewardship Activity

Written by Eduard Booysen, 5B Teacher

Students in 5B recently participated in a hands-on activity that brought environmental responsibility to life. Led by members of the high school club, Eco-Today, the session combined practical learning with meaningful discussion about environmental activism and everyday actions that support sustainability.

During the activity, students created and decorated small pots, planted basil seeds, and learned how caring for the environment begins with simple, intentional choices. The elementary students accepted the challenge to nurture and care for a living plant that they could watch grow over the coming months.

The event also strengthened community connections, showcasing positive collaboration between elementary and high school students. By learning from student leaders and engaging in experiential learning, 5B students gained a deeper appreciation for environmental stewardship and the role they can play in making a difference.
