ACSC High School Honor Band and Orchestra
Written by Mr. Christian Davis, Director of Bands
In March 2026, YISS music students from band and orchestra classes had the opportunity to participate in the Asia Christian Schools Conference (ACSC) Band and Orchestra festivals, held from March 5–8 in Penang, Malaysia (Band) and Hong Kong (Orchestra).
Over the course of the festivals, our students performed alongside talented peers from international Christian schools across Asia, collaborated with expert conductors, and enhanced their musicianship through intensive rehearsals and ensemble work.
These events brought together students in vibrant musical communities, where they refined their technique, explored new repertoire, and prepared for their culminating performances. The final concerts showcased the students’ dedication and musical growth, highlighted through expressive ensemble playing and moments of individual excellence that reflected their passion for music.
