Counseling
High school is a crucial time for exploration, introspection, and preparation as students get ready for post-secondary life. The YISS counselors act as advocates and guides in enhancing the academic, career, social-emotional, and spiritual development of students through their high school experience.

Transition Assistance
Moving to a new school or a new country can be stressful for families, and YISS aims to help students transition from one international environment to the next. The counselors host special meetings and events to ensure a smooth transition for our new friends joining us at YISS. The L Crew, a selected group of trained upperclassmen, welcomes and supports all new high school students, both freshmen and new transfers, as they transition into high school at YISS.

College & Career Counseling
The Counseling Team at YISS recognizes that every student is unique. With their varying interests, talents, and personalities, it is impossible to prescribe one “best” school that students should apply to. Counselors acknowledge the individual needs of students and personalize an aspirational, yet balanced, plan to help them select and gain acceptance to the “best fit” school for them. With more than 150 representatives from colleges and universities around the globe visiting YISS each year, plus the various counseling networks through affiliated professional associations, the counselors constantly keep up to date with changes and trends in the college admissions world. Thus they serve as resources who can answer or find answers to any question that may come up in the application process. The counselors are here to help each student experience the college application process with growth and positivity.
