Principal's Welcome
Dear High School Students and Parents,
It is my pleasure and honor to greet you as the high school principal of YISS. I am extremely proud to join this school community and look forward to partnering with our faculty, students, and parents to help students not only in their academic goals but also discover more about themselves and how they can positively impact others.
In fact, over the years, I’ve been encouraged by a verse of scripture aligned with this vision from Luke’s gospel, "...and Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, in favor with God and man.” Luke 2:52. Jesus too grew and was challenged to increase, explore, and ultimately serve others. This verse is both comforting and challenging as we all consider YISS’s vision of developing leaders who are "committed to impacting the world with servants’ hearts” and what lies ahead for the 2022-23 school year.
This is the start of my 28th year in international education. My career began in the UAE as a social studies teacher. My passion for teaching, coaching, athletics, and leading fellow educators has taken me to Kuwait, Brazil, Korea, Bulgaria, and most recently Thailand.
With three university-aged children of my own, I remember all too well the joys and pressures of high school, especially among talented, highly motivated students like those at YISS. I hope to use my experience, commitment to student learning, and heart for students to enable our high school to flourish and be a place that students remember fondly about long after they graduate.

Counseling
The YISS counselors act as advocates and guides in enhancing the academic, career, social-emotional, and spiritual development of students through their high school experience.
Clubs & Societies
Student clubs and honor societies give students an avenue for pursuing their interests outside of the classroom in a manner that helps them grow and develop as leaders.
Athletics
YISS Athletics’ mission is to develop integrity and to instill a passion for excellence in our athletes while reinforcing the educational mission of YISS.
Performing Arts
At the high school level, students are presented with a wide variety of courses to continue their performing arts studies and focus on their passion for the arts.
