COUNSELING
Elementary school is an exciting time in our young learners’ lives as they begin their formal education and start making new friends at school. Our counseling services support students as they begin learning and growing in their academic, social, and emotional skills.

Transition Assistance
Moving to a new school or a new country can be stressful for families, and YISS aims to help students transition from one international environment to the next. The counselor hosts special meetings and events, including new student lunches to ensure a smooth transition for our new friends joining us at YISS.
Partnership & Collaboration
By partnering with parents and collaborating with teachers, administrators, Student Learning Support, and the chaplain, the counselor acts as a resource, an encouragement, and an advocate for students as they grow. The counselor may also refer students to outside sources for additional counseling and support.
