By Anna Lisa Ohnstad Feb 15, 2017

YISS had the pleasure of hosting more than 100 musicians representing twelve schools that came from as far as Jeju for the KIMEAMiddle School Honor Orchestra Festival on Valentine's Day. The two student orchestras spent the day rehearsing under visiting conductors Jennifer Kim of ICS Pyeongtaek and Audrey Duncan of Korea International School.

To close the event, students presented rousing and beautiful performances of arranged classics including Tchaikovsky's "Romeo & Juliet," Dvorak's "New World Symphony," and Faur's "Cantique" alongside the original compositions "Carpathia" by William Owens, "Jazz Rhythmico" by Kirt Mosier, and "Maharaja" by Doug Spata. Bravo!
