On December 8, swimmers from around Seoul came to YISS to represent their middle schools at the annual KAIAC MS All-Star Swim Meet. Nine teams selected their best male and female athletes to compete not only for best times, but also for a tournament championship. The YISS girls, led by 8th graders Joyce K., Gina K., Sophie C., and 7th grader Soomin Y., set the tone for the meet by winning the 200 Medley Relay by over ten seconds. The YISS boys, led by 8th grader Bryan K., 7th graders Jeffrey Y., Daniel P., and 6th grader Ben C., saw a number of personal best times and came into contention to place as the meet progressed.

As the meet came to a close, the YISS girls won the 200 Freestyle Relay to capture their second KAIAC championship in a row. The boys, down by one point to second place Dulwich, would need the A and B relays to beat their Dulwich counterparts to take the lead; both relays held off Dulwich by a mere second to claim second place and end the meet in victory.

These wonderful performances were accompanied by personal best times from much of the rest of the team and points that contributed to overall team scores. Each swim was important, and each swimmer held a valuable place on the team. We look forward to next year with more fast swims and a chance to defend our 2018 KAIAC Championship!
