On the evening of Thursday, December 7, all middle school and high school choirs joined together to present a Christmas cantata titled Invitation to a Miracle by Joseph M. Martin under the direction of Mrs. Sarah Lee. A cantata is “a piece of music for singers and instruments that usually has several movements and often has a religious subject.” Invitation to a Miracle featured creatively arranged Christmas carols, poetic narration, and the timeless story of Jesus’ birth. The choirs were also accompanied by the high school orchestra, making it an evening of beautiful choral and instrumental music.
The cantata allowed the choir members to journey through faith, hope, peace, love, joy, light, and life as they sang in celebration of God’s gift of grace in this season of miracles and wonders. It truly was an amazing evening for the performers and audience alike.
