From March 2-5, 2018, the Model United Nations (MUN) team traveled to Jeju island, where students discussed issues ranging from North Korean denuclearization to Russian Olympic cheating and American Revolution survival. With eight schools competing in nine committees, the MUN team represented YISS well, taking the top award in eight committees. Additionally, four students also chaired committees, showcasing creativity, wisdom, and fairness. Overall, nearly every student won an award, and everyone represented the YISS MUN club with pride.
While not at the conference, students enjoyed the pleasantries of Jeju, from eating Jeju’s famous black pork to exploring beautiful Hallim Park. Spending time in God’s creation, with clean air and cool wind, was a nice change of pace from life in Seoul.
All students put forth great effort and teamwork, and their coaches could not be prouder.
