MUN at UN Headquarters

Between January 11-14, 2018, the YISS Model United Nations team had the chance to compete for the first time in the CMUNCE 2018 Conference held at Columbia University in New York City. Encountering a new format known as "Crisis Committee," our students took a little while to adjust but showed great determination and acquitted themselves admirably during the whole conference.Danny K. (12), Oliver K. (12), Sou Min S. (12), Jiyu S. (11), and Katherine Y. (11) even participated in an event known as the "Midnight Crisis," which saw delegates deal with immediate dangers and crises similar to what they may encounter in the real world as diplomats.

Between committee sessions, the team also had the good fortune to visit the actual United Nations Headquarters, the Museum of Modern Art, and the National September 11 Memorial & Museum, as well as enjoying a bit of the shopping and great food choices the Big Apple has to offer.
