Lady Guardians Dominate Korean Classic Tournament

By Mark Heil Aug 30, 2016

The varsity girls' volleyball team came out strong for the Korean Classic Pre-season Tournament at KIS on Saturday, August 27. Led by captains Chris Lee and Jungeon Sohn, the Lady Guardians swept the competition with three victories and no losses to take home first place and begin this season with a resonating bump-set-kill.

On the court for YISS varsity are 11 talented young ladies, most in 9th and 10th grade with much time yet to hone and perfect their skills. The four coaches--Mr. and Mrs. Heil with Mr. and Mrs. Son--are excited about the potential of each player and the overall possibilities with a young, hard-working team. The regular season is now underway and will culminate with two tournaments in October. Check out their game schedule on yisspn.com, and come out to cheer for the varsity volleyball!
