In keeping with our commitment to provide an environment where each child is respected and cared for, Yongsan International School of Seoul adopted a Child Protection Policy in 2013 to guide our staff and families in matters related to the health, safety, and care of children at our school. This policy is based on requirements of The Republic of Korea and our membership in the Child Safety and Protection Network. By enrolling your child at YISS, you agree to work in partnership with the school and abide by the YISS Child Protection Policy (click here to view the introduction). The YISS Child Safety Committee regularly reviews our policy and will inform parents as updates are made.
The National Child Protection Agency (NCPA), which was founded in 2001 by the Ministry of Health and Welfare, plays an important role in helping to prevent, protect against, and offer assistance to the victims of child abuse and neglect in Korea. The NCPA enacted a new child protection law on September 29, 2014, that governs both Korean citizens and expatriate families living in Korea. Click here to view the NCPA's website to learn more.
In compliance with the laws and governing authorities appointed over us, YISS is required to report instances of child abuse that come to our attention regardless of where the abuse occurs. Please direct any questions that you have regarding child safety at YISS by contacting the ES Office, MS Office or HS Office.
Thank you for partnering with us in this important matter.
