Top Spellers Compete in 4th & 5th Grade Spelling Bee

By Anna Smith Feb 10, 2017

This year was the first Spelling Bee for all 4th and 5th grade students. Students who wanted to participate in the event had one week to study 100 challenging words. Our homeroom teachers held class Spelling Bees for those students brave enough to compete against their classmates for the title. Two winners from each class went on to represent their classes in the Championship Spelling Bee the following week.

Winners of the class Spelling Bee were given only one more week to study a new list of words. Our dedicated students showed up to the Championship prepared and ready. Suspense was high as the audience eagerly watched their classmates face off in a battle of the brains. Congratulations to Edward H., who won the 4th grade championship, and to Deacon S., who won for 5th grade. The Spelling Bee was a fun, exciting way for students to sharpen their spelling skills and engage in a friendly competition with their peers. We are already looking forward to next year's event!
