Athletics
Students are provided with the opportunity to explore different sports while developing specialized skills and an appreciation for physical wellness with specific focuses on developing and strengthening basic skills, teamwork, sportsmanship, cooperation, and commitment.
Conference Sports
Athletes join other international school students around Korea to participate in weekend jamborees, tournaments, and other competitions. Teams traditionally compete in at least three weekend jamborees, providing our athletes with the opportunity to work together as a team and apply the learned skills.
YISS competes with international and Department of Defense (DoDDS) schools as a member of the the Korean American Interscholastic Activities Conference (KAIAC). A team is selected each season to participate in the KAIAC All-Star Jamboree tournament featuring top athletes.

Intramural Sports
Intramural sports is an in-school program that emphasizes participation, skill development, and the opportunity to enjoy a sport in an environment where all students, regardless of ability, are able to actively contribute to their team. Students who register are placed on a team to participate in games at least once per week.
Students refine their existing abilities while also practicing skills in areas they can improve upon. Ultimately, students learn how each team member’s abilities, coupled with teamwork, compromise, and understanding, contributes to the overall success the team.
