The library and media center promotes media and information literacy; cultivates an appreciation for reading; enables our users to access, evaluate, and ethically use information; and encourages a habit of lifelong learning.

Students, Staff & Family
High school students may visit the library and media center with their classes, between classes, and during class with teacher permission. Students are also welcome to use the library before and after school, during their morning advisory period, or during their lunch break. Staff and parents of the YISS community are welcome anytime.

Learning Spaces
The media center is a cozy and comfortable place where students can explore the world of reading, quietly work independently, or collaborate with small groups, all with high speed Wi-Fi access.
Media Specialists
The media center is staffed with certified library and media specialists who are available to assist with research needs during library hours. Specialists are also available to collaborate with teachers in all content areas.

Digital & Print Resources
The media center maintains a rich and varied collection of print materials to support curriculum and recreational reading. Online database access, reference subscriptions, as well as electronic books are available to use both on campus and at home.
Checkout Policies
- High School Students - Borrow up to four books at a time for three weeks.
- Parents - Borrow up to 10 books, magazines, videos, CDs, or DVDs for two weeks.
- Renewals - Any book may be renewed for an additional two weeks, unless the book has been reserved.
