Accreditations & Affiliations
YISS is fully accredited by two American organizations, is officially recognized by the Korean government, and has numerous affiliations that lend it credibility.
YISS’ accreditations and affiliations ensure that it is meeting standards set for international schools and that the school is continuously evaluating and improving its programs and teaching.
Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI)
YISS is an ACSI member school with accreditation, which “affirms that the school meets standards of quality established by the international school community” and verifies that we “are striving for excellence based on a solid Christian philosophy of education.”
Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC)
YISS is accredited by WASC, one of the six regional accrediting agencies in the US. Accreditation with WASC assures that the school is “a trustworthy institution for student learning” and “validates the integrity of the school’s program and transcripts.”
Republic of Korea, Ministry of Education
YISS is registered with the Republic of Korea, Ministry of Education and is officially recognized as a foreign school.
Network of International Christian Schools (NICS/Oasis)
NICS/Oasis, a worldwide network of international schools, founded ICS - Seoul in 1990, which became YISS in 2006. NICS/Oasis is the operator of the school.
East Asia Regional Council of Overseas Schools (EARCOS)
YISS is a member of EARCOS, whose mission is to inspire “learning through its leadership and service and foster[s] intercultural understanding, global citizenship and exceptional educational practices within our learning community.”
The College Board
YISS is a member of the College Board, which is “made up of over 6,000 of the world’s leading educational institutions and is dedicated to promoting excellence and equity in education.” YISS is an approved testing site for the PSAT/NMSQT®, SAT®, and AP® exams.
National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC)
YISS is a member of NACAC, “an organization of more than 15,000 professionals from around the world dedicated to serving students as they make choices about pursuing postsecondary education,” bringing recognition and credibility to our students’ transcripts.
International Association for College Admission Counseling (IACAC)
YISS is also a member of the International ACAC, the overseas affiliate of the US-based NACAC. This puts our school “on the radar of more university admissions officers as they recruit around the globe.”
WIDA International School Consortium
YISS is a member of the WIDA International School Consortium, which uses WIDA’s research-based standards and assessments “to meet the needs of [our] English language learners (ELL) with the leading standards and assessments for K-12 ELLs.”
