At Yongsan International School of Seoul we desire to work along side parents and to provide a positive, academic environment that fosters intellectual growth in our middle school students. This can only be accomplished by a cooperative effort between parents and teachers.

The YISS middle school curriculum has been selected with the students and their unique needs in mind. Each subject is taught by qualified teachers who have high academic expectations for their students, genuine care and concern for their students and a wealth of knowledge and experiences to share with their students. The middle school teachers utilize a variety of strategies and methods in order to maximize student learning and to meet the different needs and learning styles of each student. Our goal is to teach students the content in an environment where they will feel safe to question, discuss, and experiment. As a result, our students learn not just facts but they learn to think, analyze and evaluate; these are skills that will enable them to be successful in high school, in university and throughout the rest of their lives. The content and curriculum at the middle school level extends beyond the classroom walls. Many other events and activities such as concerts, science fair, and field trips are provided to encourage students to see the connection between their studies and the world outside of the classroom.
