Yongsan International Elementary School is committed to providing a dynamic learning environment where students in Kindergarten through grade 5 are nurtured academically, socially, emotionally, physically and spiritually. The teachers at YISS Elementary School come from a variety of backgrounds, but they share one thing in common - a love for their students. We desire to create an environment throughout the school that welcomes all students regardless of their background. We also aim to challenge students to reach their full potential as they are nurtured academically, socially, emotionally, physically, and spiritually.

Our classrooms, curriculum, and activities are designed to encourage students to explore new ideas, interact with peers, develop positive character traits and skills, and cultivate a love of learning. We understand that students in our school come from many backgrounds and have many different learning styles, and therefore our teachers approach planning and instruction in a way that incorporates all learners. This allows our students to master the basics while finding innovative ways to apply knowledge to novel problems.

At YISS, we value our students and their families and have developed a positive school culture in which students are nurtured; where parents are invited to be a part of the education process; and where the rigor of academic work is balanced with activities that recognize all aspects of a child's development.
